In Times of Trouble and Social Distancing

So the world is doing what the occasional good writer attempts: to distance socially. Now, we are asked to distance socially and in some cases it is mandated due to COVID-19, otherwise known as the Coronavirus. And the occasional good writer sequesters him or herself voluntarily. But, the result is the same...home alone (hopefully without those wily guys attempting to rob the house... :-) )

I have been working from home for over a year and since January, working on my freelance writing and my novel. So I'm accustomed to this. I'm sure, though, that even for we who are used to this routine that it will get old when we have to stay indoors and away from others and stuck with the family. Partners are home, the schools are closed, and we can't just go out to the library, gym or shopping, or even the mall or movie theater willy nilly. Besides, most of those places are closed as well. The irony is that I always want to be around my kids more. Be careful what you wish for!

So for the occasional good writer, what strategies are you now employing if 1. You have to stay home versus going to a job outside the house; or 2. You have been working from home but now you have many more distractions?

As always, I welcome input and a discourse. I am curious as to what we as writers should be doing, or could do so we can help each other. Because we all know it won't just be one month...now they are talking about two...and the count is on. Oh, gosh, how will we survive? :-)

Post your comments here or shoot me an email! I look forward to hearing what you all have to say. Even non-writers are welcome to comment! Thanks and stay healthy and safe!
